Description
Short comic based on a Japanese folktale.
I wanted to practise doing a comic before I started working on my own. This was definitely worth it, I learnt a lot along the way. More importantly though I had lots of fun doing this.
The whole process from story boarding to inking and toning took me 30 days. I decided not to use ink on it and made the lineart as neat as I could in a mechanical pencil. I've decided that in the future I might actually do the inking digitally. I found that the boxes I drew weren't always neat and it was a pain to add the white gradients on background boxes. I took the time to learn Manga Studio 5 for all the toning and text, in the future I need to consider where my speech bubbles are going as I hadn't in this one.
